| 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful  tight look and amazing sound and DEEP Bass, This review is from: Outdoor Technology Turtle Shell Wireless Boom Box (Black) (Electronics) The look of the Turtle Shell is the first thing you notice, it looks like it could be displayed in MOMA or some ultra-cool hollywood hills house, then you start using it and realize this is built for serious action. i have dropped it a few times already, once in the shower where it performs like magic with considerable water flowing on it, once off the roof of my suv when i forgot it was there after tailgaiting all day, not a scratch. i haven't used the mount yet, but do own it, and will probably buy a second Turtle for my wife and have that one be the dedicated stroller mounted speaker. the bass is far better than any other similar size speaker i have listed to, wired or wireless, including the jambox, overall sound is close to the $299 Bose at twice or three times the size we have as well. I received one and it was defective and was disappointed so I talked to customer service and dealt with Marc at Outdoor Technology and he made the swap process easy and flawless. I mention this since customer service is many times more important than the product itself. The new one just came in and it blew me away how great it was. The bass is very impressive and is really vibrating my desk as I type this and I can barely handle it at top volume it has such good output. Outside it will be perfect. Plus, if you drop it....it should be okay (haven't tried that yet.....knock on wood). Also, since it's winter I haven't had a chance to bike with it. But, used it around the hose for parties and conference caslls. Cool!If the sound was a bit more robust, I'd give it a perfect 5. It's nearly there, but could use a little more oomph and clarity. But, for $150 what an awesome gadget! On top of providing music, I can answer calls without even stopping and getting off of my bicycle. And, I can use it to run conference calls from my home office. I think it really deserves a 4.75.....since it is much closer to a 5 than a 4. Great Christmas present! |
